We are proud to announce that we have received the BFSZ Research Seal from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for not one but two groundbreaking research and development (R&D) projects.
The seal is a significant recognition of R.WEISS Packaging GmbH & Co. KG's innovation activities, showcasing that this owner-managed company plays a vital role in promoting innovation and technological advancement. The Research Allowance Certification Office (BSFZ) exclusively awards its seal to companies that demonstrably engage in research and development and are thus eligible for research allowances.
The first awarded project showcases our high-speed packaging machine, equipped with IoT sensors and adaptive robot control technology, which can achieve performance improvements of up to 18%. A new machine frame also optimizes visibility, robustness, and picker performance.
The integrated information module, consisting of an LED light strip and display, spans the entire line and significantly facilitates machine operation monitoring and troubleshooting. Operational states, warnings, error messages, as well as process data, can be displayed on the respective module. An innovative vision concept enables the simultaneous recognition of different products that are supplied in a chaotic manner—a milestone in packaging automation.
The second project focuses on the development of specialized equipment for unique processes. Think of automated, product-friendly flipping of improperly positioned baked goods, a pneumatic linear unit for precise cutting of welded plastic films at 8 positions, or a fully automated, robot-based carton erector with variable sealing techniques.
